Stony Brook volleyball senior Kathy Fletcher (West Chicago, Ill.) was named America East Player of the Week Monday, as announced by the conference office.
Fletcher hit .382 with 5.50 kills/set over two matches for the Seawolves last weekend. Stony Brook swept Binghamton Friday before falling to Albany in five sets Sunday. Fletcher tallied a career-high 28 kills and season-high 16 digs against the Great Danes, while her .424 hitting percentage against Binghamton was a career-best in a Seawolves uniform.
Fletcher’s award is the seventh for a Seawolf in the season’s first seven weeks. Freshman Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) has won three weekly conference awards, freshman McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) has earned two and senior Nicole Vogel (Costa Mesa, Calif.) has been tabbed for one.
The Seawolves return to action Friday, Oct. 16, with a 6 p.m. match at Hartford.
