Vogel named America East Setter of the Week

Oct. 26, 2015

Boston - Stony Brook volleyball senior Nicole Vogel (Costa Mesa, Calif.) was named America East Setter of the Week Monday, as announced by the conference office.

Vogel tallied 11.70 assists/set over three matches for the Seawolves last week and had a performance for the Stony Brook record books in Friday’s sweep of Delaware State, recording 42 assists while leading the Seawolves to a program-record .558 hitting percentage. That performance followed a 43-assist output and .384 team hitting percentage in Tuesday’s sweep of Sacred Heart.

The award is the second of the season for Vogel, who was also named America East Setter of the Week Oct. 5. Freshman Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) has collected three weekly conference awards this season, freshman McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) has been tabbed for two and senior Kathy Fletcher (West Chicago, Ill.) has been named for one weekly honor.

The Seawolves return to action Friday, Oct. 30, with a 7 p.m. match against UMass Lowell at Pritchard Gymnasium.
