Stony Brook volleyball senior Nicole Vogel (Costa Mesa, Calif.) was named America East Setter of the Week Monday, as announced by the conference office.
Vogel did not miss a beat in her first full match of the season as the Seawolves’ primary setter, as the Seawolf senior recorded 33 assists and 16 digs in a sweep of UMass Lowell for the third-consecutive straight-set win by the Seawolves.
Vogel, who ranks sixth in program history with 2,237 assists, has recorded 10.50 assists/set in four frames as the Seawolves’ primary setter during conference play in 2015.
The Seawolves have tallied six America East weekly awards in 2015. Freshman Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) has earned two Setter of the Week nods and one Rookie of the Week award, while freshman McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) has been tabbed as Rookie of the Week twice.
Stony Brook returns to action with two home matches at Pritchard Gymnasium this weekend. The Seawolves host Binghamton Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m., and Albany Sunday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m.
