Stony Brook travels to face No. 17 Vanderbilt Thursday

Tip-Off: The Stony Brook's men's basketball team will begin a three-game road swing Thursday at Vanderbilt.  The game will be televised on SEC Network + and the WatchESPN app.  Curt Hylton will have the call locally on WHLI 1370 AM.

Opponent: Vanderbilt enters Thursday's game with a 2-0 record after victories over Austin Peay and Gardner-Webb.  Five players are averaging double figures in scoring, led by Jeff Roberson's 18.0 ppg. Damian Jones, a preseason All-SEC selection, is averaging 11 points and seven rebounds per game.  The Commodores were picked to finish second in the SEC behind Kentucky.  

Series: Stony Brook will face Vanderbilt for the first time in school history.  The Seawolves will play an SEC opponent for the second time in as many years, having faced Georgia in last season's preseason NIT.  Stony Brook also has played at Auburn and Kentucky.

Up Next: Stony Brook will take on Western Kentucky on Saturday, November 21 at 1 p.m. ET.  The Seawolves beat the Hilltoppers, 71-61, last season as part of the preseason NIT at Island Federal Credit Union Arena
