Stony Brook volleyball freshman Taylor Wilson (Corydon, Ind.) was named America East Rookie of the Week by the conference office Monday for her performance in the week ending Nov. 1.
Wilson tallied nine kills on a .615 hitting percentage and eight digs in the Seawolves’ sweep of America East foe UMass Lowell Friday night at Pritchard Gymnasium. The Stony Brook middle blocker has recorded five or more digs in each of her last four matches.
All three Seawolf freshmen have earned America East honors this fall. Morgan Kath was named Setter of the Week Aug. 31 and Sept. 28 and Rookie of the Week Sept. 21, while McKyla Brooks earned Rookie of the Week honors Sept. 8 and Sept. 28. In addition, senior Nicole Vogel was tabbed as Setter of the Week Oct. 5 and Oct. 26 and Kathy Fletcher was honored as Player of the Week Oct. 12.
The Seawolves return to action Friday, Nov. 6, with a 7 p.m. match at Albany.
