Tip-Off: The Stony Brook men's basketball team will travel to our nation's capital to face American University Thursday at 7:30 p.m.  Josh Caray will broadcast the action on WHLI 1370 AM.

Opponent: American hasn't played since falling at Wagner, 55-48, on December 6.  Delante Jones had a career-high 20 points against the Seahawks, but no other Eagle tallied more than eight points.  Jones, a freshman, is averaging 8.0 points per game.  Senior Jesse Reed leads American with 11.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.  One of American's two victories this season was a 68-50 victory over New Hampshire on November 28.

Series: American leads 2-1, but Stony Brook won last year's contest, 59-47, on Long Island.  Senior Carson Puriefoy (Wenonah, N.J.) tallied a game-high 18 points and senior Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) recorded one of his Division I-best 24 double-doubles with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Last Time Out: Despite a season-high 29 points from Jameel Warney, Stony Brook fell to Northeastern, 75-62, at Matthews Arena.

Warney, who added 11 rebounds and four blocks, shot 12 of 22 from the field and went 5 of 7 from the line.

Warney broke Bryan Dougher's Division I scoring record in the first half. Warney, who entered Saturday's game with 1,602 points, broke Dougher's record of 1,609 with a layup in the first half.

Up Next: Stony Brook will host Long Island rival Hofstra on Sunday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m.
