Tip-Off: Winners of three straight games, the Stony Brook men's basketball team will make its shortest road trip of the season, traveling to face NJIT Monday night at 7 p.m.  Josh Caray and Curt Hylton will broadcast the action on WHLI 1370 AM.

Opponent: NJIT is coming off an eight-day layoff after beating St. John's, 83-74, on December 20. Damon Lynn, who leads the Highlanders in scoring at 18.6 points per game, scored a season-high 32 points against the Red Storm.  Lynn leads Division I with 119 three-point attempts.  Ky Howard is averaging 14.0 points per game.  The Highlanders, who are seventh in DIvision I in free throw percentage (.775), lost to Albany and Columbia and beat UMass Lowell.  It will face UMBC on January 2. NJIT is playing at home, where it is 4-1, for the first time since December 7.

Series: Stony Brook has won all four Division I meetings, including a 60-46 victory in the last contest in 2009.  The series dates back to the 1960-61 season, Stony Brook's first as a varsity program, when NJIT was known as Newark College of Engineering.  The Seawolves own a 12-8 advantage in the all-time series.

Last Time Out: Senior Carson Puriefoy (Wenonah, N.J.) scored a season-high 25 points and senior Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) totaled 22 for the third straight game as the Stony Brook men's basketball team rallied past Lehigh, 75-62, Tuesday night at Stabler Arena.

Warney (16) and Puriefoy combined for 31 of Stony Brook's 46-point second half. Warney, who added 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks, registered his eighth double-double of the season for Stony Brook (7-4), which has won three straight games.

Junior Ahmad Walker (Port Washington, N.Y.) also finished with a double-double, totaling 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.

Up Next: Stony Brook will wrap up non-conference play at Island Federal Credit Union Arena on Saturday, January 2 against Columbia at 7 p.m.
