Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Junior Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) garnered America East Player of the Week honors after leading the Stony Brook men's basketball team to two victories last week.
Warney averaged 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over Albany and Binghamton. Warney posted his nation-leading 18th double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds against the Great Danes, who had their 13-game winning streak snapped.
Warney has scored in double figures in seven straight games, 10 out of 11 and 26 of 29 this season.
It's the seventh conference honor for Warney, who is one honor shy of tying Hartford's Kenny Adeleke (2005-06) for the most in a season.
Warney and the Seawolves will wrap up the regular season with games against UMass Lowell on Wednesday and Hartford Saturday.
