West Hartford, Conn. - The Stony Brook women's tennis team opened America East play in dominant fashion by beat Hartford, 7-0, Saturday at the East Hartford Racquet Club.

The Seawolves lost only 14 points in the six singles flights. Senior Cassandra Dix (Northamptonshire, United Kingdom) earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles. Junior Becky Shtilkind (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and senior Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine) each took home 6-0, 6-1 victories.

Shtilkind and sophomore Adey Osabuohien (Hazel Crest, Ill.) combined for a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Movchan and freshman Yana Nikolaeva (Thornhill, Ontario) won 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

The Seawolves will take on Harvard and Brown of the Ivy League next weekend.
