Princeton, N.J. -
The Stony Brook men's basketball team has accepted an invitation to participate in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) and will face Mercer Wednesday night in Georgia.
The Seawolves (23-11) will play in the postseason for the fourth straight year after NIT berths in 2012 and 2013 and a CBI bid last season.
The Bears (18-15) lost in the Southern Conference semifinals, 52-49, to Furman. Senior Darious Moten and junior Ike Nwamu earned spots on the 10-member All-Southern Conference team. Moten, who averaged 11.4 points per game this season, was injured in the quarterfinal win over VMI and will not play. Nwamu led Mercer in scoring (14.7) this season.
Freshman Stephon Jelks was one of five players to be named to the All-Freshmen team.
Mercer upset Duke last season in the NCAA Tournament.
Wednesday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
