ROCKVILLE, Maryland -- The Stony Brook baseball team (19-12) saw its nine-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday afternoon when host Georgetown (17-17) salvaged the series finale and claimed a 10-1 victory at Shirley Povich Field.
The Seawolves did take the series after the double header sweep on Saturday. Stony Brook has not dropped a series since losing all three to then-No. 1 Florida at the end of February.
Quoting Head Coach Matt Senk
"It was good to win the series but today's game was disappointing especially to have the bases loaded twice in the first four innings and only score one run"
Turning Point
Stony Brook wasn't able to get the clutch hit on Sunday and left 11 runners on, including eight running in scoring position.
Notes
- By recording a base hit on Sunday, freshman RF Andruw Gazzola(Coram, N.Y.) and sophomore SS Jeremy Giles (Claremont, Calif.) have now each hit safely in the last eight games.
-  Junior RHP Nick Brass (Shirley, N.Y.) tossed 1.2 innings on Sunday and did not allow a baserunner.
- Stony Brook had won nine straight games before falling to Georgetown on Sunday. The Seawolves' last loss was the series finale against UMass Lowell on March 30.
