Stony Brook volleyball freshman Morgan Kath (Milwaukee, Wis.) was named America East Setter of the Week for her play during the opening weekend of the 2015 season, as announced Monday by the conference office.
Kath tallied a conference-best 9.18 assists per set in her first weekend of collegiate action as the Seawolves took part in the Penn State classic. The Seawolves freshman tallied 40 assists in a four-set win over Buffalo, 33 in a four-set match against Villanova and 28 in a three-set loss to No. 1 Penn State, the two-time defending national champion. Kath also tallied 20 digs, four blocks and three aces over 11 sets in the opening weekend.
The Seawolves return to action Tuesday with a match at Manhattan in Riverdale, New York, at 7 p.m.
