The Stony Brook volleyball team returns home to Pritchard Gymnasium for the Seawolves Invite Presented by Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook. The Seawolves will host Rhode Island, Columbia and Army West Point in the two-day, six-match tournament, with each team playing three matches.
Scouting the Rams
Rhode Island enters the weekend at 6-3 and is on a four-match winning streak following a 3-0 weekend in Kingston at the Art Carmichael Invitational. The Rams defeated Canisius, Lehigh and Sacred Heart last weekend.
Franki Darnold leads the Rams with 3.83 kills/set, while Layne Self has posted a .366 hitting percentage. Callan Kinnan has tallied 10.20 assists/set, Audrey Castro leads the team with 3.53 digs/set and Marie Gillcrist has posted a team-leading 1.03 blocks/set.
Scouting the Lions
Columbia enters play this weekend at 2-4 on the year following a home invitational in which the Lions went 2-1. Columbia defeated Northeastern and NJIT before the Lions fell to American.
Zoe Jacobs has tallied a team-leading 3.15 kills/set for the Lions, while Katarina Jovicic leads Columbia with an even .400 hitting percentage. Alex Reale leads the team with 9.60 assists/set, while Cassie Wes has a team-leading 3.86 digs/set.
Scouting the Black Knights
Army West Point is 6-4 after a 2-1 weekend at the Service Academy Challenge. The Black Knights defeated Air Force and Harvard and fell to California.
Carolyn Bockrath leads Army West Point with 3.00 kills/set and a .440 hitting percentage. Vanessa Edwards paces the team with 9.30 assists/set, while Shannel Chong has recorded a team-best 4.40 digs/set.

Friday will mark a reunion for a pair of high school teammates from the West Coast. Stony Brook senior Stephanie McFadden and Rhode Island senior Frankie Darnold were teammates at San Clemente High School in California.
Big Dig
Senior Lo Hathaway broke the Seawolves’ program record for digs Sept. 5 vs. Holy Cross, passing Jessica Serrano with the 1,531st of her Stony Brook career.
Boston Calling
The Seawolves garnered an America East weekly award in each of the season’s first two weeks. Morgan Kath was named Setter of the Week Aug. 31, while McKyla earned Rookie of the Week honors Sept. 8.

The Seawolves play the third of four Tuesday night matches this season when Stony Brook travels to Fordham for a 7 p.m. match.
