Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook volleyball team split a pair of four-set matches Friday at the Seawolves Invite Presented by Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook. The Seawolves fell to Rhode Island (15-25, 18-25, 25-22, 15-25) before defeating Columbia (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21). The Seawolves stand at 3-11 after Friday’s matches.

Highlights
- Senior Stephanie McFadden (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) hit .351 over the two matches, recording 13 kills in the win over Columbia and 11 against Rhode Island.
- Freshman Morgan Kath (Muskego, Wis.) averaged 10.75 assists over eight sets on the day. Kath had 44 assists against Columbia and 42 against Rhode Island.
- Senior Kathy Fletcher (West Chicago, Ill.) tallied 17 kills and 14 digs in the win over the Lions.
- Freshman McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) had eight blocks on the day and a 15-kill performance against the Rams.

Notes
- McFadden raised her aces/set average on the year to 0.68. The Seawolves senior entered the week fifth in the nation at 0.67.
- The match vs. Rhode Island featured a matchup of McFadden and high school teammate Franki Darnold from San Clemente (Calif.) HS.
- All three of the Seawolves’ wins this year have been of the four-set variety.
- The Seawolves are 3-0 when they win the first set.

The Seawolves will host Army West Point Saturday at 1 p.m. in Pritchard Gymnasium in their final match of the Seawolves Invite Presented by Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook.
