Stony Brook, N.Y. - Freshman Serge Gamwanya (Kinshasa, Congo) was named the America East Rookie of the Week after recording assists in each of the Stony Brook men’s soccer team’s two games last week.

Gamwanya assisted on Stony Brook’s first goal in the Seawolves 2-1 overtime victory over Marist on Wednesday and then set up Vince Erdei’s (Budapest, Hungary) tally in Stony Brook’s 2-1 loss at Villanova.

Gamwanya is third on the team with four points on a goal and two assists this season.
