Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's basketball team (2-3) will vie for its third straight win when it travels to St. Bonaventure (3-3) on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 p.m.
Scouting St. Bonaventure
The Bonnies have started 3-3 under the leadership of first-year head coach Jesse Fleming. Like the Seawolves, they enter Wedensday's tilt winners of two straight, taking down Austin Peay and Rider in consecutive contests. St. Bonaventure's offense has had a difficult time replacing its three leading scorers from last season, including leading scorer Katie Healy, who averaged 15.3 ppg. As a team, the Bonnies have exceeded 60 points in just one of six games. Mariah Ruff has done a good job shouldering the scoring load, shooting 37.2% from three-point range en route to a team-high 14.7 ppg. Gabby Richmond is averaging 10.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg, while Matea Britvar is averaging 9.0 ppg and a team-high 7.7 rpg.

Stony Brook won Saturday's game at the free throw line, scoring its final 10 points from the charity stripe. In a tight ballgame, Stony Brook went 10 of 11 from the line over the final five minutes. Sophomore Aaliya Worley's (Philadelphia, Pa.) two free throws gave Stony Brook a 50-49 lead with 48 seconds to play, then Kori Bayne-Walker (Rochester, N.Y.) salted it away by hitting all four of her free throws down the stretch. The Seawolves rank third in the conference in free throw percentage at 71.0% and have four players ranked in the top 12 in the America East in Davion Wingate (100%), Worley (83.3%), Lauren Williams (78.9%) and Bayne-Walker (78.3%). The Seawolves ranked eighth in the America East from the line in 2015-16 at 69.2%.
Manner Gets Elusive Double-Double
Forward Elizabeth Manner (Vienna, Va.) hauled in a career-high 11 rebounds on Saturday on her way to her first career double-double. Manner, who is tied for the conference lead in field goal percentage, hit 5-of-10 shots from the floor to finish with 11 points, her third game in double figures in scoring this season.

Stony Brook's defense led the Seawolves to a 2-0 week, holding its opponents to just 50 points in both games. The Seawolves gave up an average of 67.3 ppg in their three losses to open the season, but have dropped their scoring defense to 61.0 ppg, the third best mark in the conference. The Seawolves showcased just how dominant their defense could be in the third quarter on Saturday, holding the Jaspers to just six points and without a field goal over the entire 10 minutes. Manhattan went 0-for-13 from the field. Stony Brook is holding its opponents to 24.7% from three-point range, the best mark in the conference.
