Opponent: St. John's is 0-2 to start the season after losses to Rutgers and Jacksonville. Jason DeBenedictis has scored a team-high six goals. Eric DeJohn is second with five. The Red Storm have played Joe Danaher and Michael O'Keeffe in the cage. O'Keeffe relieved Danaher against Rutgers and played all 60 against Jacksonville.
Series: St. John's has won two straight games in the series to take a 4-3 lead. In last year's contest, Stony Brook led for all of the first half, but St. John's outscored the Seawolves, 9-2, in the second half to win 13-8. The two teams played for the first time in 1986, a 22-4 St. John's victory.
Last Time Out: Senior Brody Eastwood (Victoria, British Columbia) finished with six goals and three assists as the No. 20 Stony Brook men's lacrosse team topped Sacred Heart, 17-8, in the 2016 season opener.
Eastwood totaled four goals in the first quarter and seven of his nine points in the first half.
