Stony Brook, N.Y. - Head men's soccer coach Ryan Anatol announced the addition of two players to the spring roster in St. John's transfer Dela Agbotse (Accra, Ghana) and Jarred Dass (Marabella, Trinidad). Both players are on campus and will take part in team activities during the spring season.
"We are very excited to get Dela and Jarred on campus," said head coach Ryan Anatol. "We feel we have found two players who will immediately make our team better. Dela has experienced success at the Division I level with St. John's and Jarred has big game experience playing in Trinidad with his club and the U17 Trinidad National Team."
Agbotse played in 26 career games at St. John's, starting seven. A left-footed attacking player, he scored two goals and added an assist for the Red Storm in three seasons. His first career goal came on Sep. 4, 2014 vs. Hofstra. He also scored St. John's first goal of the 2015 season vs. Princeton on Sep. 4.
Agbotse was a standout for Elwood John Glenn High School, leading the Knights to a Suffolk County League VI title as a junior and earning all-county honors as a senior.
Dass was a member of the Trinidad U17 National Team that narrowly missed qualifying for the World Cup. He played for Naparima College (High School), the same school as Stony Brook America East All-Rookie midfielder Martieon Watson (Vessigny, Trinidad), leading them to back-to-back SSFL Premiere League Titles. Naparima also won the National Intercol Championship in 2015. He was named to the SSFL All-Star Eleven and one of the Top 5 Players of the Year in 2015. Dass also is a member of W Connection FC.
