In search of its fifth straight NCAA Tournament berth, the Stony Brook women's tennis team travels to Maryland for the 2016 America East Championship.
The tournament will be played at the Wilde Lake Tennis Center in Columbia.
The Seawolves, seeded second, will face UMBC on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the winner advancing to the finals.
Stony Brook (9-6) is led by the 1-2 duo of sophomores Elizabeth Tsvetkov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Yana Nikolaeva (Thornhill, Ontario), who've combined for 38 singles wins.
Tsvetkov is 21-5 and Nikolaeva 17-4.
The duo also has starred in doubles, combining for a 9-2 record, including a 6-2 mark at the No. 1 spot.
Freshman Devanshi Bhimjiyani (Rajkot, India) is 6-1 at No. 3 singles in dual matches.
The back end of the starting lineup is deep with upperclassmen. Junior Nadia Smergut (New York, N.Y.) is 5-3 at the No. 4 spot.
Seniors Louise Badoche (Paris, France) and Becky Shtilkind (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each have won at least six dual singles matches.
