STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stacey Bedell, a junior running back on the Stony Brook football team, was named the College Sports Madness FCS Offensive Player of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Bedell, a native of Mastic Beach, N.Y., helped guide the Seawolves (2-1, 1-0 CAA Football) to a 42-14 victory over then-No. 2 Richmond this past Saturday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. He scored a career-best four touchdowns, including breaking a 49-yarder in the first quarter that gave Stony Brook a lead they would not relinquish.
Bedell recorded the ninth 100-yard rushing game of his career with exactly 100 yards on 17 carries against the Spiders.
College Sports Madness identifies the players who have made the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis each week.
Bedell was named as one for four finalists for the American Sports Network's FCS Game Changer of the Week. Fans can vote
