Ontario, Canada - Former Stony Brook midfielder Challen Rogers (Coquitlam, British Columbia) was selected second overall by the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League in Monday's NLL Draft. 

Rogers' Stony Brook teammate, Brody Eastwood, (Victoria, British Columbia) went in the third round (No. 26) to the Calgary Roughnecks. The NLL is the top indoor lacrosse league in the world.

"Our program is so happy for both Challen and Brody for achieving their life-long goal of playing in the NLL," said head coach Jim Nagle. "We are all so proud of them!  They add to the large family of Stony Brook lacrosse alumni to play professional indoor lacrosse."

Rogers is the highest draft pick by a Stony Brook alum since Kevin Crowley was selected first overall in both the 2011 MLL and NLL Entry Drafts. 

Rogers, a third team All-American for the Seawolves as a senior, was selected 32nd overall by the Boston Cannons in the 2016 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft in January. He appeared in 10 games as a rookie, scoring five goals and adding an assist.

Eastwood finished his career as Stony Brook's all-time leading goal scorer with 182 over his four-year career. He set the school's single-season goal record in 2015 with 62, which ranked him t-2nd nationally behind Brown's Dylan Molloy.

Eastwood was selected 52nd overall in the 2016 MLL Collegiate Draft by the New York Lizards and Stony Brook women's lacrosse head coach Joe Spallina. 

Rogers and Eastwood are the ninth and tenth Stony Brook alumni to play professionally since 2008. They join Crowley '11 (Charlotte Hounds/New England Black Wolves), Steven Waldeck 11' (Ohio Machine) and Rhys Duch 08' (Vancouver Stealth) as the five active professional alums.
