Bollinger, Haun earn America East weekly honors

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Freshmen Michael Bollinger and Tom Haun have claimed two of the America East's three weekly individual honors for their play in the team's 10-9 win over Vermont Saturday. Bollinger was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week and Haun earned Rookie of the Week accolades, while Albany's Connor Fields rounded out the honorees as the Offensive Player of the Week.

The newcomers sparked the Seawolves on opposite ends of the field as Bollinger led the defensive efforts with 12 stops, boasting a .571 save percentage, while scooping up five ground balls. Bollinger helped keep the momentum in Stony Brook's favor with a big stop to close out the first quarter, and held the Catamounts scoreless in the second. The Sachem, New York, native preserved the one-goal lead with another huge stop in the final minute of play. This was the third double-digit save game for Bollinger through four starts this season.

Haun posted his most productive game of the season as he finished with six points by way of two goals and four assists. He was in on six straight Stony Brook goals through the second and third quarters. The Sachem, N.Y., native has had a point in every game this season and now has seven multi-goal games on the year.

The Seawolves return to the field Friday, April 21 as they travel to UMass Lowell for a 7:30 p.m. game.
