Courtney Murphy (Shirley, N.Y.) and goalkeeper
Anna Tesoriero (Huntington, N.Y.) have both earned America East weekly awards, as announced by the conference office on Monday, Feb. 19. Murphy has been named Offensive Player of the Week, while Tesoriero has been named Defensive Player of the Week.
Murphy helped lead the Seawolves offensively at No. 5 USC, recording four goals and four assists for eight total points in her return to the field. The redshirt senior now has 250 career goals, needing just 40 more to break the NCAA record set by Temple's Gail Cummings (289).
Tesoriero was impressive in net for Stony Brook, making 10 saves to earn the road victory. She now owns a 36-6 career record in the cage for the Seawolves.
No. 2 Stony Brook is back in action tonight (Monday, Feb. 19), squaring off with No. 23 Stanford at 4:00 p.m. ET in California.
