BOSTON, Mass. -- The Stony Brook men's basketball program has completed its 2018-19 schedule, as the America East Conference released the league lineup for the upcoming season. This will be the Seawolves' 18th season as a member of the America East. They advanced to the conference playoff semifinals for the ninth straight season last year.Â
"The conference continues to get better, top to bottom, each year," said head coach
Jeff Boals. "We feel like we have a tough non-conference schedule that will help prepare us for all the styles of play we will see in the America East. We are looking forward to the opportunity of competing for a regular season championship and America East Conference Playoff championship in March."
Stony Brook will begin league play on Saturday, Jan. 5 with a trip to UMass Lowell. The team will open conference play at Island Federal Credit Union Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 9, hosting Binghamton, before New Hampshire comes to Long Island on Saturday, Jan. 12.
The Seawolves will break up a three-game road swing to host Vermont on Saturday, Jan. 26, traveling to Maine and Albany after a midweek bye, and UMBC following the clash with the Catamounts. Saturday, Feb. 2 with feature a match-up with Hartford at home before the Seawolves travel to Binghamton in the middle of the week. They will be back home on Saturday, Feb. 9 to host UMass Lowell.
Stony Brook will have another midweek bye leading into a trip to New Hampshire on Saturday, Feb. 16.Â
The Seawolves will return home for three straight games at Island, hosting Albany, Maine and UMBCÂ on Feb. 21, 23 and 27, respectively, before closing out the regular season with games at Vermont and Hartford.Â
The America East Playoffs will begin on Saturday, March 9 with quarterfinal play at the site of the higher seed in each match up. The semifinals will follow the same format and be played on Tuesday, March 12, followed by the championship game on Saturday, March 16.Â
