LeAnne Sakowicz each earned weekly conference honors this week after leading the Seawolves to a 2-1 record at the South Florida Tournament this past weekend. Costello was named America East Player of the Week, while Sakowicz earned Setter of the Week honors, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning. This is Costello's first America East Player of the Week award of the season and career.
Costello averaged 3.46 kills per set and 2.76 digs per set in the South Florida Tournament. Her stellar play gave her a total of 45 kills and 36 digs to start of the 2018 season.
Sakowicz averaged a conference-best 10.62 assists per set through the weekend, tallying a total of 138 assists to start the 2018 season.
Stony Brook returns to the court this evening, taking on Hofstra in Hempstead at 7 p.m.
