Stony Brook Schedule Complete After America East Slate Released

BOSTON – The Stony Brook men's basketball team's schedule is complete after the America East announced the 2020 conference slate Wednesday morning.

"After a very difficult non-conference schedule, highlighted by the defending national champions and nine opponents in early projections for NCAA Tournament bids, the America East will again be a great test," first-year head coach Geno Ford said. "Vermont will be the favorites but with many veterans returning around the conference, I expect it to be an exciting conference season."

Three of the first four league games will be on the road, with two coming against top four teams from the conference a year ago. After a conference-opening trip to Maine on January 5, the Seawolves play the defending champions Vermont on January 8 in Burlington, Vt.

The team's home conference opener is against New Hampshire before a trip to Hartford on January 15.

The Seawolves welcome both SUNY rivals in a four-day span, bringing in UAlbany for a Saturday clash on January 18 and a midweek welcome to Binghamton on January 22.

After the team's bye, Stony Brook rounds out its first round of league play at UMass Lowell on January 29 and home to UMBC on February 1.

The River Hawks return to Island Federal Arena on February 5 for the start of the second round of league play. Back to back road games follow that, as Stony Brook heads to New Hampshire and Binghamton on February 8 and 12.

The league's designated television night is on February 20, when the Seawolves play host to Vermont. The America East will pick one of the four games that night to air on ESPNU.

The three-game homestand culminates with Maine on February 22 and Hartford on February 26. The Seawolves will then head to UAlbany on February 29 and UMBC on March 3 to round out the 2019-20 regular season.

Once again being held at the highest remaining seeds, the America East Playoffs will start on March 7, with the semifinals being held on March 10 and the Championship on March 14.
