BOSTON — The Stony Brook baseball team won the America East title a year ago. This season, they are projected to finish second.
The league released the results of the preseason coaches poll on Wednesday.
The Seawolves received a pair of first-place votes, but nonetheless check in three points behind Binghamton.
Stony Brook returns all-conference first baseman
Chris Hamilton and infielder
Johnny Decker to anchor the team's offense, while
Jared Milch enters his senior season in the rotation. All-Rookie member
Ben Fero returns for his sophomore campaign to lead the Seawolves' bullpen.
Coach
Matt Senk's club finished with 31 wins a season ago, winning the team's sixth America East title and earning a bid in the Baton Rouge Regional.
