BOSTON — The Stony Brook women's basketball team is out to a hot start in conference play and so is
India Pagan as she was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday.

Through just two games in America East play, Pagan tops the conference in scoring (21.0 ppg) and is grabbing 5.0 rebounds per game.Â

On Sunday against Maine (73-69), the junior went off for a career-high 26 points from 13-of-14 shooting to lead the Seawolves to victory over the two-time defending conference champions. She also added in 16 points and seven boards in the team's win over UMBC (57-45) on Thursday.

This is Pagan's second Player of the Week honor after also garnering conference recognition on Dec. 23.

Stony Brook is 14-1 on the season and 2-0 in America East play along with UAlbany and UMass Lowell. The team returns to action this Wednesday, hosting Vermont at 6:31 p.m. at the Island Federal Arena.
