STONY BROOK, N.Y. — When you work hard in both the class room and on the field, rewards will come.

The reward for men's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Matt Anderson is a spot on the 2020 America East Conference All-Academic Team.

The Burlington, Ontario, native was one of 10 members selected to the team on Tuesday afternoon.

"It is such an honor to represent Stony Brook in such a positive manner," Anderson said. "Stony Brook does an unbelievable job of providing you with the proper tools and resources for every student-athlete to achieve their academic goals."

Anderson earned a 3.64 GPA in the classroom and is a business management major. 

On the field, Anderson started all seven games that were played in 2020 and netted seven goals, including his first career collegiate goal that came at Fairfield.
