BOSTON – Three Stony Brook University volleyball student-athletes earned All-Conference honors as announced by the league office on Thursday. Junior outside hitter
Amiyah De'Long was tabbed to the All-Conference First Team, while sophomore middle blocker
Abby Campbell and senior middle blocker
Enitan Omolewa both claimed Second Team honors.
"Great to see these three get honored for their individual success this season. We have many weapons on our team and these three really proved themselves to be consistent throughout the conference season. The team's ability to put them in great situations allowed them to shine and it's exciting on both ends of that equation," said head coach
Kristin Belzung.
De'Long has appeared in 23 matches and recorded 249 kills, 3.11 kills per set, and 268.5 points. She ranks third in the America East in kills per set, fifth in total kills, is tied for third in points per set, and sixth in total points. She hit a team-best .308, which was good for the fourth-best hitting percentage in the conference this season. The middle blocker recorded 10 or more kills in a match six times and tallied a season-high 18 kills in the second match of the season on August 27, against Wofford.
She recorded a hitting percentage of .400 or better in nine matches during the regular season and notched a season-best .667 hitting percentage in the win over Loyola (Md.) on September 4. Campbell registered a season-high seven blocks against St. John's on September 14.
