STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Graduate students
Ally Kennedy and
Taryn Ohlmiller have helped generate national title conversation for the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team. And both again have been recognized for their talents.
Inside Lacrosse named Kennedy to the publication's first-team and Ohlmiller to its second-team Preseason All-America list on Monday.
Kennedy had been ranked the No 3 college lacrosse player and Ohlmiller the No. 47 college lacrosse player, man or woman, by Inside Lacrosse in December.
Kennedy also recently was named US Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Player of Year, Preseason Midfielder of Year and Preseason All-American.
Kennedy, a midfielder, enters her final college season ranked second in program history in draw controls (242), fourth in goals (193), fifth in points (248), fifth in ground balls (133) and 10th in assists (55).
Ohlmiller, an attacker, ranks second in program history in assists (138), third in points (305) and fifth in goals (167).
"Taryn is one of the premier attack QBs in the country with her ability to not just score, but to set up teammates and make the players around her better," coach Joe Spallina said. "TO is going to have a monster season."
