STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook women's lacrosse picked up an easy 19-7 win over Towson on Friday night at LaValle Stadium, extending its winning streak to seven straight.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Seawolves took control of the game from the onset, scoring two goals on the first two shots of the game to go ahead 2-0, not even a minute and a half into play. Stony Brook kept its early momentum, scoring two of the next three goals, as a goal from
Julia Fusco made it 4-1 and gave the sophomore a hat trick in the first quarter. Three more goals were added by the Seawolves to close out the quarter, while the Tigers added one of their own, as Stony Brook now led 7-2 heading into the second quarter.
Each side added a pair through the first 6:50 of the second quarter as the Seawolves led by a score of 9-4. Stony Brook poured in the next three goals in less than a minute, taking a commanding 12-4 lead with 6:39 remaining in the first half, then later adding one more goal to close out the quarter and go up nine at the halftime break.
The Seawolf offense kept flowing in the third quarter with an early goal from
Haydin Eisfeld putting Stony Brook up 10. With the clock now running, the Seawolves added three more goals to go into the final quarter of play with a 17-4 advantage.
Stony Brook would score a pair of goals in the fourth quarter while Towson added three, as the Seawolves closed out the 19-7 win with ease.
STATS AND NOTES
- Fusco posted a game-high six points on five goals and an assist. Her five goals tie her career high.
- Eisfeld scored four goals for the second time this year.
- Keira Martin and Mirabella Altebrando each tallied four points on three goals and one assist.

- Zoe Stonecipher tied her career-high with two goals on Friday night.
- Isabella Caporuscio posted another multi-goal game with her two goals scored tonight.
- Hailey Huebner continued her fantastic season, causing four turnovers.

- The Seawolves won 20 draw controls to the Tigers' seven.
