STONY BROOK, N.Y. — An historic month for
India Pagan was recognized on Wednesday.
After joining the Stony Brook women's basketball 1,000-point club on Jan. 17, she was named as the Centereach Hyundai Student-Athlete of the Month for January.
Pagan's milestone highlighted a month in which she cracked double-figure scoring in four of her six appearances, including averaging 18.5 points per game during the final weekend of the month at Hartford. She shot 66.7 percent from the field that weekend, earning America East Player of the Week honors for her performance.
She also led the Seawolves into the top two in the America East standings as the regular season comes down the home stretch and her squad chases its second consecutive America East title.
Stony Brook completes its regular season by hosting UAlbany on Feb. 22 and 23 at Island Federal Arena. Both games are slated for a 2 p.m. tip.
