STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team went 2-0 in Maryland. And two players who helped spur victories against UMBC and No 16 Towson were rewarded with America East weekly honors on Monday.
Ally Kennedy was named the conference's Player of the Week and
Jaden Hampel was named Rookie of the Week.
Kennedy, the US Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Player of the Year, combined for six goals and an assist in the 2-0 weekend.
Hampel, a freshman from West Islip, had a combined five goals in the two games. She also was named America East Rookie of the Week on Feb. 22.
The Seawolves (4-2, 1-0 AE) next host UMass Lowell on Sunday at noon at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
