STONY BROOK, N.Y.— Ally Kennedy set single-game and tournament goals records this past weekend as the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team marched to its eighth straight conference title. On Tuesday, she was recognized nationally as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Offensive Player of the Week.
Kennedy had a combined 12 goals in a pair of wins to set the America East tourney record.
She was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and moved into sole possession of second place on the program's all-time goals list, passing legend
Kylie Ohlmiller, who tallied 252 goals for the Seawolves from 2015 through 2018.
A 5-foot-3 midfielder from North Babylon, Kennedy had matched the America East tournament record with a seven-goal outburst against UMBC in the semifinals.

Stony Brook has earned the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host Towson in an opening-round game on Friday at noon at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
"I want to keep this dream going," Kennedy said. "I want to keep working for it. It's just the mentality of 'the next play.' You've got to make the play ahead of you and not focus on mistakes. You have to win to stay alive. And that's definitely our goal. I don't plan on stopping soon."
