ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Stony Brook University women's swimming and diving team kept the momentum rolling into day three breaking two more program records to total four new program records across the weekend.
Junior
Maddy Enda, senior Jess Salmon, and sophomore
Mary Kate Conway set new program records at the final day of the ECAC championships. Enda set a new record in the 200 fly with her time of 2:02.58 in the prelims Sunday morning, surpassing the 11-year-old time of 2:03.52 set by Julie Policht in 2011. Conway later broke Enda's record that she set earlier in the day in the 200 fly. Conway clocked a 200 fly time of 2:02.33 in the finals to set a new program record.
Salmon followed behind Enda breaking an 11-year-old program record in the 200 breast with her final time of 2:20.82, beating the previous record of 2:21.76 set by Taylor Crosby in 2011.Salmon also secured a first-place (9
th overall) in the B Final in the 200 breast.
Stony Brook earned a sixth-place overall finish with a total of 243 points.
DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- The 400 medley relay squad comprised of MacDonald, Salmon, Enda, and Conway earned a fourth-place finish and set a new program record with a final combined time of 3:48.58.
- Conway earned a first-place finish (ninth overall) in the B Final and set a new personal best in the 500 free with a final time of 4:57.55.
- The 200 free relay team comprised of Emma Waechter, Brenna McLaughlin, Briana Liew, and Lara Youssef secured a second-place finish in the B Finals (10th overall) with a final time of 1:38.80.
DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Salmon set a new personal best and program record in the 100 breast with a final time of 1:04.12. Salmon earned a seventh-place overall finish with a final time of 1:04.19.
- The 200 medley relay team comprised of Briana Liew, Lara Youssef, Emma Waechter, and Salmon secured a sixth-place overall finish with a final time of 1:46.22.
- Brenna McLaughlin earned a first-place finish and a new personal best in the B Final in the 400 IM with a final time of 4:35.04.
- Emma Hawkins and Reagan MacDonald rounded out the podium for the Seawolves in the 400 IM clocking in at 4:35.46 and 4:36.43, respectively.
- Mary Kate Conway touched the wall in 1:51.46 in the 200 free which was good for a third-place finish in the B Final (11th overall).
DAY THREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Salmon set a new personal best and program record in the 200 breast with a final time of 2:20.82. Salmon earned first-place (ninth overall) in the B Final.
- Enda secured a new personal best and at the time a program record in the 200 fly with her time of 2:02.58. Enda earned an eighth-place overall finish in the 200 fly with her final time of 2:04.03.
- Mary Kate Conway secured a fifth-place overall finish and set a new personal best in the 200 fly with her final time of 2:02.33. Her time of 2:02.33 broke Enda's record from earlier in the day.
- Bridget Montgomery touched the wall in 17:40.06 in the 1650 free which was good for a seventh-place overall finish. Zoe Rebol finished right behind with a final time of 17:50.94. They both set new personal bests.
- Reagan MacDonald earned a first-place (ninth overall) and set a new personal best in the 200 back with her final time of 2:03.68.
- The 400 free relay team comprised of Emma Waechter, Emma Hawkins, Lara Youssef, and Conway finished the night off strong for the Seawolves earning an eighth-place overall finish with a final time of 3:36.23.
