BOSTON — After leading an incredible defensive effort from Stony Brook Women's Lacrosse on Monday, senior Haley Dillon is the America East Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

Dillon caused three turnovers and helped hold the Dartmouth attack to just three goals and nine total shots in a 20-3 win over the Big Green Sunday afternoon at LaValle Stadium. Stony Brook as a whole caused 13 of Dartmouth's 18 turnovers, led by the three from Dillon.

That total is the highest for her since her four-caused turnover performance in the 2019 America East title game, a win over UAlbany.

She has caused a turnover in each of her first two appearances, adding a total of three ground balls in the first two contests. 

The Seawolves head to No. 11 Florida on Saturday morning as part of a stretch that features three consecutive Top 20 opponents. First draw from Gainesville, Fla., is scheduled for 10 a.m.
