NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — For the second time this season,
Ellie Masera is the IWLCA's National Offensive Player of the Week.
The sophomore midfielder earned her second selection after a standout performance at the draw and in the offensive end. Tuesday at No. 10 Princeton, Masera collected 12 draw controls, the most by a Seawolves player since February 2021 and tied for the fifth-most in a single game in program history. Along with that, she totaled four points with a pair of goals and two assists.
She followed that up with a five-goal outing against Arizona State on Friday night, her third-such output of the season.
On the year, Masera has nearly doubled her point total from a season ago (18), totaling 34 through seven games this season. She had a five-point day at No. 11 Florida, a six-point day at No. 4 Northwestern and four points at No. 10 Princeton.
Entering Tuesday's action, Masera is ranked inside the top 30 nationally in draw controls per game (5.80), free-position percentage (.643), goals per game (3.70), total points (48) and points per game (4.80).
She leads the No. 5 Seawolves into action this Saturday, taking on New Hampshire at 3 p.m., at LaValle Stadium.
