GREENSBORO, N.C. — After another trophy-winning campaign on the diamond, the Stony Brook baseball team earned accolades for its success in the classroom on Wednesday as a 2021-22 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award winner.

They are one of nearly 700 member college and high school programs from across the country, as teams from every level were recognized for posting a team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2021-22 academic year.

Over 420 collegiate programs were recognized, with Stony Brook named as one of seven Colonial Athletic Association programs on the list. 

The Seawolves are coming off a third consecutive America East regular season title, finishing their final season in the league at 21-9 to secure its third straight championship. The squad also housed the league's Player of the Year in Evan Giordano and five all-conference selections.
