NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — After another standout season on the field, the Stony Brook women's lacrosse program was again recognized for excellence in the classroom as eight Seawolves were named to the IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll.
The coaches association honored 1,013 student-athletes from 106 different institutions, recognizing juniors, seniors or graduate students that have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Stony Brook is coming off its fourth trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals in the last five seasons, again earning a national seed in the tournament and winning two postseason contests at LaValle Stadium. Over that stretch, the Seawolves have an .847 winning percentage, the third-best in the nation, ahead of notable programs like Maryland, Loyola (Md.), Florida, Northwestern, Princeton and Syracuse. The squad's 28-game home winning streak is also second-longest in the country after an 8-0 mark in the 2022 campaign.
