STONY BROOK, N.Y. – With less than three months until opening tip, the Stony Brook women's basketball team has released its 2022-23 schedule on Tuesday morning. The Seawolves' schedule features 13 games inside Island Federal Arena, an 18-game Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) slate, and a non-conference trip to Puerto Rico.

Stony Brook's season begins on November 7, when its travels to the JMA Wireless Dome (formerly known as the Carrier Dome) to take on ACC foe Syracuse for the fifth time in program history. It marks the Seawolves' third trip to Syracuse and first since the 2017-18 season.

Three days after the season opener, Stony Brook welcomes Manhattan to Island Federal Arena for the 2022-23 home opener on November 10. The Seawolves remain on the Island when they play host to Iona on November 14.

After its two-game homestand, Stony Brook travels to Queens to face St. John's on November 19. The Seawolves stormed past the Red Storm in their meeting last season as they earned a 72-60 victory over the Big East opponent.

The Seawolves will spend Thanksgiving in Puerto Rico as they are set to compete in the Puerto Rico Clasico in San Juan. Stony Brook first goes head-to-head with High Point on November 23, and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on November 24. It marks the first time in program history that the Seawolves face either team.

After their Puerto Rico trip, the Seawolves close out non-conference play in December with five games. They travel to Penn (Dec. 1), Bucknell (Dec. 3) and St. Francis Brooklyn (Dec. 10) and host Columbia (Dec. 7) and Maryland Eastern Shore (Dec. 21) over the course of the month.

Second-year head coach Ashley Langford will lead her squad into six, home-and-home series with Charleston, Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth, UNC Wilmington and Towson, totaling up 12 of the 18 CAA contests. The Seawolves will play one game at home against Delaware, Hampton and William & Mary and play one road contest with Elon, North Carolina A&T and Northeastern to round out its conference campaign.

Stony Brook's inaugural CAA game comes on December 30, when it welcomes William & Mary to Island Federal. It marks the first time in history that it will face the Tribe.

The Seawolves play their first-ever conference game against local rival Hofstra on New Year's Day in Hempstead. Stony Brook then plays host to Hofstra for their second of two meetings on February 12.

Stony Brook goes head-to-head with the 2021-22 CAA Regular Season Champion Drexel for the first time on January 8, in Philadelphia. It marks the Seawolves' first-ever meeting with the Dragons. The teams are slated to meet again on February 5, on Long Island.

The Seawolves square off with the reigning CAA Champion Delaware on February 26. It will be just the fourth ever meeting between the teams and first since they met on December 28, 2008.

Annie Warren returns to lead the Stony Brook offense as one of four players who averaged double figures in scoring a season ago at 12 points per game. Gigi Gonzalez returns to direct the Seawolves offense, finishing just under four assists per game last season.

Stony Brook is coming off of a 2021-22 campaign where it went 23-6 overall and posted a 14-4 record in conference play en route to earning an at-large berth into the WNIT. As a result of their success, the Seawolves earned votes in WBCA Top 25 and were ranked as high as No. 7 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.
