BOSTON, Mass. – The Stony Brook women's soccer team was topped by Northeastern, 3-0, on Thursday evening at Parsons Field. The Huskies took an early lead with a goal in the 10
th minute by Nina Dooley and controlled the match for the rest of the way as they added a pair of tallies in the second half.
Seawolves' sophomore goalkeeper
Nicolette Pasquarella made eight saves in net including a pair of highlight reel stops in the defeat. Pasquarella's eight saves were her second-most in a game this season (recorded 11 saves at Penn on Sep. 11).
As a team, Stony Brook attempted 11 shots with five going on target, while Northeastern took 17 shots and fired 11 on goal.
The Seawolves are now 3-6-2 all-time against the Huskies. Prior to tonight's match, the teams last met during the 2019 season when Stony Brook picked up a 2-1 win in overtime.
With Stony Brook joining the CAA, it reunites with Northeastern as a fellow conference member as both were previously apart of the America East up until the Huskies departed the league in 2004 and the Seawolves following the 2021-22 academic year.
