Graduate guard Anastasia Warren led the way with 24 points, senior guard Gigi Gonzalez followed behind raking in 22 points. Graduate guard Daishai Almond registered a season-high 20 points and junior guard Shamarla King ended the night with 12 points.

The Seawolves got off to a hot start with an 8-0 run early in the first quarter which gave the squad an 11-4 lead with 6:39 left to play in the first quarter. Gonzalez accounted for six of Stony Brook's eight points.

After trailing, 17-15, at the end of the first, the Cougars would take hold of the lead after back-to-back threes from junior guards Jailia Roberts and Anika McGarity with 8:14 left in the second quarter.

Back-to-back layups from King and a jumper from Warren would tie the contest at 33-33 with just under four minutes to play in the half. On the final play of the half, the Seawolves were not able to stop a layup from Roberts as Charleston went into halftime with a 40-37 lead.

Warren sparked the Stony Brook offense at the start of the fourth quarter. The Atlanta, Ga., native knocked down her third three-pointer of the game and regained control of the lead for the Seawolves, 66-64.

Almond sparked the Seawolves' offense in the second half as she scored 15 of her 20 points over the final 20 minutes of the game. Stony Brook would not let up for the remainder of the contest as the squad went on to defeat the Cougars, 80-76.
