THE MATCHUP
The two sides meet for the third time in the overall series history. Stony Brook took down Elon, 4-0, at LaValle Stadium earlier this season to open CAA play. Last season, the Phoenix won the first-ever matchup between the two programs.

LAST TIME OUT
The Seawolves played to a scoreless draw on the road at William & Mary. The result moved Stony Brook back into sole possession of first place once again, but results in Monmouth and Hofstra's season finales, respectively, pushed Stony Brook back down to third place in the standings.

LEADER OF THE PACK
Stony Brook men's soccer head coach Ryan Anatol was named the 2023 CAA Coach of the Year after guiding the Seawolves to a third-place finish in the program's second season in the league. Anatol became the Seawolves' first CAA Major Award Winner and the third in program history to be named conference Coach of the Year, joining Scott Dean and John Ramsey.

ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION
Five Seawolves garnered All-CAA distinction, as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning. Jonas Bickus and Bas Beckhoven were selected to the All-CAA Second Team, while Olsen Aluc and Edmond Kaiser garnered All-CAA Third Team honors. Alex Fleury was tabbed to the CAA All-Rookie Team as well.

OUTDOING THE PROJECTIONS
Picked to finish 11th in the CAA Preseason Poll, the Seawolves would end up earning the No. 3 seed and the first berth into the CAA postseason in program history. Stony Brook sat atop the table for a majority of the regular season and was unbeaten in league play before a loss to Monmouth.

A HISTORICAL RUN
The Seawolves enjoyed a nine-match unbeaten streak during the season, the longest such streak during Anatol's tenure, the longest in the program's Division I history and the best streak since the 1970 season. After opening the season with losses in three of its first four non-conference contests, Stony Brook would earn a result in nine straight matches, a streak that extended from early September into late October.

NATIONAL STATS OVERVIEW
At the conclusion of the regular season, Stony Brook boasted the 22nd-best scoring offense in the NCAA, ranking 18th in total goals (32) and assists (35) and 20th in total points (99).

KAISER THE KEEPER
Edmond Kaiser, who returned for his fifth year, made the most of his extra year of eligibility on the Island. The keeper from Germany led the CAA in saves per game (5.43) and total saves (76) and ranked inside the top-20 in the nation in three different categories. His 5.43 saves per game were fifth-best in the NCAA, while his 76 total saves were seventh-best and his .800 save percentage ranks 16th in all of Division I. Kaiser finished the regular season with a 5-4-5 record in goal and posted four shutouts.

UNITED SOCCER COACHES' RANKINGS
Stony Brook sits at No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches' Atlantic Regional Rankings. The Seawolves first appeared in the polls on October 10 and have held the No. 10 spot since that date. Stony Brook has earned results against three of the top-10 programs in the regional rankings, including a road draw at No. 1 Hofstra.
