STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Stony Brook University women's basketball head coach Ashley Langford has announced the addition of Sadie Shores to the program for the 2024-25 season. Shores signed her National Letter of Intent to join Stony Brook on Wednesday during the 2023 National Signing Day.

Shores, a 5-10 guard, plays scholastically at Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, Virginia, and on the AAU circuit for Fairfax Stars EYBL.

"I am so excited that Sadie is officially joining our family," said head coach Ashley Langford. "She embodies our program values and is an all-around winner in the classroom and on the court. Sadie is an athletic, versatile guard with size, who can score in a variety of ways including posting up smaller defenders. She's a fierce competitor who will immediately elevate our program."

A member of the varsity program, Shores comes to the Island after earning 2022-2023 All-NOVA Junior Girls Team, Private School. Shores also added 11 points in the State Championship game to lead PVI to the 2023 state title victory. In 2022, Shores lead her team to the VHSL Region 5D title after dropping 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals in the championship game. Following her performance during the 2022 season, she earned 2021-2022 All-NOVA Sophomore Girls Team honors. Also, Shores was named to the 2021-2022 All-Potomac District Team, 2021-2022 Virginia High School League Class 5 First Team All-State team and earned Player of the Year honors for the district.

Stony Brook returns to the court when they hit the road to take on Le Moyne on Saturday, November 11. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.
