Ellie Masera have earned spots on the Inside Lacrosse Women's Top 50 players countdown for 2024, as announced by ILWomen this week.
Both All-Americans have returned to the list from the year prior, as Hart was selected as No. 45 and Masera was picked as No. 16 overall.
Hart enters her fifth year having scored 157 goals and adding 53 assists from the attack position, including 55 goals and a career-high 23 assists a season ago. She notched 14 hat tricks last season, including one in each of Stony Brook's last 10 games, to follow up on 64 goals and 14 hat tricks in 2022. She was top 50 in Division I in average goals and average points, ranking 40th with 4.11 points per game and 42nd in goals per game (2.89).
She was named an Honorable Mention All-American by ILWomen and USA Lacrosse Magazine, and also earned Preseason All-American honors from both outlets. Hart was also named IWLCA Mid-Atlantic First Team All-Region, First Team All-CAA and was a Tewaaraton Watch List preseason pick.
Masera, a consensus All-American and Tewaaraton Award nominee a season ago, finished with career highs in goals (71), assists (24), points (95), shots (145), ground balls (36), caused turnovers (19) and draw controls (120) in 2023. She ranked tied for fifth in the country in points per game (5.00) and eighth in goals per game (3.74), as well as 20th in draw controls per game (6.32). She finished with hat tricks in 16 of Stony Brook's 19 games last season, which included seven performances of five goals or better.
In addition to her national accolades, Masera earned CAA Midfielder of the Year distinction and was an All-CAA First Team pick, was named the conference's Player of the Week four times, along with IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week on May 2. Masera was also a Preseason All-American First Team pick across ILWomen and USA Lacrosse Magazine and the latter's Preseason Midfielder of the Year.
Stony Brook reached the NCAA Championship second round for the 10th consecutive tournament in 2023, winning its first CAA Championship in its first season in the league.
