RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook women's lacrosse senior attacker
Morgan Mitchell has been named CAA Player of the Week for her performance against Towson, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Mitchell led the Seawolves' offense to a 14-11 win over Towson which secured the No. 1 seed for the squad heading into the program's first-ever CAA Tournament. The Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.., native tallied five goals and three assists for a career-high eight points.
This Weekly honor marks the first conference award the senior attacker has received in her career. Mitchell is the fourth player from Stony Brook to earn a CAA Weekly honor, joining
Ellie Masera,
Haley Dillon, and
Kailyn Hart.
The Seawolves return home to LaValle Stadium for the regular season finale and the Battle of Long Island on Friday, April 28. Face-off is set for 6:31 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on LacrosseTV.
