Five Seawolves Earn CAA Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Five Seawolves have earned CAA men's lacrosse All-Conference honors as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. Senior attackman Dylan Pallonetti, graduate midfielder Matt Anderson, junior midfielder Noah Armitage, and senior long stick midfielder Christian Lowd were all named to the All-CAA First Team. Freshman defenseman Michael DeSano was tabbed to the CAA All-Rookie Team.
 
Pallonetti is a three-time CAA Offensive Player of the Week and was selected to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List earlier this season. He is tied for fifth in the nation in goals and is tied for 13th in the nation in points. He ranks first in the CAA in goals (47) and is third in points (65). Pallonetti owns the longest goal scoring streak in the nation as he has tallied goals in 42 consecutive games. His 47 goals this season are the seventh-most in a single-season in program history. For his career, he now has 117 goals, which puts him in sixth-place all-time. The senior has recorded nine hat tricks this season and 14 multi-goal games.
 
Anderson was named the CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week on May 1 and was selected to the USILA Team of the Week on April 4. He ranks tied for second on the team in points (41), is tied for second in goals (28), and fourth in assists (13). Anderson scored the game-winning goal to beat Towson on April 1 and the goal that proved to be the game-winner on April 29 at Hofstra. He has recorded 12 multi-point games this season and seven multi-goal games. The graduate registered a career-high five points (four goals, five assists) in the 11-10 win at Hofstra.
 
Armitage was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on March 20. He ranks tied for seventh in the CAA in assists (17) and is eighth in assists per game (1.21). The junior is tied for second on the team in points (41), is fourth in goals (24), and third in assists. Armitage recorded a career-high seven points (six goals, one assist) in the win at Hampton on March 18. He has recorded 11 multi-point games this season and six multi-goal games.
 
Lowd has been one of the top defenders in the league this season. The senior covers the opponent's top midfielder every game and plays 90 percent of every contest. He ranks third in the CAA in caused turnovers (28) and is eighth in ground balls (58). He leads the team in both ground balls and caused turnovers. Lowd picked up a career-high nine ground balls on April 15 vs. Delaware. He forced a season-high five turnovers on April 8 at Drexel. The long stick midfielder has picked up three or more ground balls in 11 games this season and has caused three or more turnovers in six games this season.
 
DeSano has played in all but two games as a freshman for the Seawolves. He has picked up a career-high seven ground balls against St. John's and caused a career-best two turnovers in that same game. DeSano has been a driving force on defense and has started 11 of 12 games and becomes the first Seawolf in program history named to the CAA men's lacrosse All-Rookie Team.
 
The Seawolves return to the field tomorrow night when they head to Newark, Del. to compete in the CAA Tournament for the first time. The squad enters as the No. 3 seed and will play No. 2 seeded Drexel in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. The game will broadcast live on LacrosseTV.
