RICHMOND, Va. - Shane Henderson of Stony Brook men's cross country was named the CAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. Henderson was Stony Brook's top performer at the Stony Brook Season Opener, winning the 6.2K event with a time of 18:42.8, nearly seven seconds faster than second place.

Henderson helped lead the Seawolves to a team win in the Stony Brook Season Opener with his first-place finish. As a unit, Stony Brook collected 27 points en route to securing the top-spot in the five-team field.

Stony Brook returns to action on Friday at the Friar Invitational hosted by Providence University. The meet, being held at the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course in Attleboro, Mass., begins at 3 p.m. on Friday.
