BRONX, N.Y. - The Stony Brook tennis team shined in singles competition this weekend at the Fordham Invitational, capturing 14 total wins as a team and a pair draw finals victories from Lorin Tilipman and Mila Charles.

SINGLES 

The Seawolves made their presence felt early and often on Friday with a pair of quarterfinal singles wins from Tiipman and Kristi Boro. Stony Brook ended its day in a similar fashion with three more quarterfinal victories from Cornelia Bruu-Syversen, Sara Medved, and Charles.

During day two, the Seawolves kept the momentum in their favor as Tilipman, Boro, and Charles all secured wins to advance to their draw finals.

Stony Brook's winning ways carried into the final day, as Tilipman opened Sunday up with a come-from-behind win in the super tiebreaker to claim the Draw D final. Charles followed suit with a clutch victory to take the Draw H final.

Following losses earlier in the weekend, Elena Lobo-Corral and Maria Perez bounced back with a pair of consolation finals wins in Draws C and I.

DOUBLES

In addition to its 14 singles wins, the Seawolves tacked on five more victories in doubles competition, headlined by two Draw Finals runs from Boro/Tilipman and Charles/Carmen Villalba Rubio.
